Our History

Longley Systems was established in 1954 and incorporated in 1960 by Quenten “Shorty” Longley to sell and service time clocks in the Quad City area of Illinois and Iowa. In 1981 “Shorty” retired and transferred the business to his son, Daniel Longley, who operated the business until 2006 when he retired and the business was transferred to David Malnar, an eight year employee with over twenty-five years of experience in computer software systems, service, and sales. Longley Systems has been a partner with Lathem, Rapidprint, and Amano for over 25 years providing time clocks and supplies. Longley Systems has been a partner and a regional sales leader of NOVAtime products since its inception in 2000. Longley Systems is considered by many as one of the “experts” in the Time and Attendance industry throughout the Midwest with a large customer base in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Missouri in a myriad of industries.

In 1978, Shorty was one of the founding member of the Independent Time and Labor Management Association (ITLMA), and his son, Daniel Longley was President and actively involved for many years. The ITLMA has been a venue for Time and Attendance dealers across the United States to share their experience and knowledge to benefit their business and the industry. The ITLMA is a strong and successful association today.

Longley Systems believes that giving back to the community is a responsibility that all business should share and will continue to engage in more efforts to reach out and be actively involved in making our community a better place to live and work.

Longley Systems is committed to the concept of community involvement and are members of many local organizations such as:
  • Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors
  • Davenport One Diplomats
  • Davenport One Small Business Council
  • Rotary International
  • Junior Achievement

Longley Systems is a member of the Better Business Bureau and believes strongly in ethical and integral business practices for our employees and customers.
